INGREDIENTS FOR 30 BISCUITS:
300g all-purpose/plain flour
60g icing sugar
55g apple sauce
160g dairy-free butter

For the decoration:
dark chocolate, melted
icing sugar
jam

STEPS
– Mix flour with icing sugar.
– Add the butter and rub it in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
– Add the apple sauce, and incorporate it by hand to create a rough dough. Knead the dough briefly on a floured surface until smooth, wrap it in cling film and chill for 4 hours, better if overnight.
– Preheat the oven to 160°C.
– Roll the dough to a thickness of 5mm (¼ inch), cut it into shapes using different cookie cutters, place the shapes on baking tray lined with greaseproof paper and bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the desired colour is achieved. Cool down completely before decorating.
– Fill the cookies with jam, sprinkle them with icing sugar, or dip them into melted chocolate to create a variety of different shapes and flavours.

SUBSTITUTIONS and TIPS
– The apple sauce can be substituted with 50g of soy milk

  1. Hope you will put vegan back in the titles of your videos. People are doing google searches for vegan recipes, and if it doesn’t have the word vegan, they don’t show up in the searches. They get totally lost. It is the word vegan that brings more exposure and views.

I recently became a vegan because I’m apparently allergic to meat and I got horrible itchiness from red patches that comes out every 3 hours everytime I eat animal derived protein. it’s been hard to go through the extreme change in my diet cuz I hardly cooked anything vegan before. So, please make more videos, more recipes!
