Vegan Pizza Night at the McKeevers – Get tips on how I turn my kitchen into a top-your-own pizza parlor.

Garlic Pizza Crust
Makes 4 individual thin-crust pizzas
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
3/4 cup lukewarm water
3 tablespoons granulated or liquid sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic granules
3/4 teaspoon sea salt
2 1/2 cups bread flour, sifted
nondairy margarine (for greasing bowl)

In a medium bowl, stir yeast into water (105º-115ºF or 40°C-46°C) until dissolved. Let stand 10 minutes. Whisk in maple syrup, garlic granules, and salt, then stir in yeast mixture.
Use either the Stand Mixer, Knead by Hand, or Food Processor method to mix dough.

Food Processor Method
Pulse dry ingredients in food processor fitted with the S-blade or dough blade to combine. With the processor running, pour the yeast and liquids through the feed tube. Stop once liquids have been added. Pulse on and off 8 to 10 times until dough comes together in a ball and no dry ingredients remain.
Lightly coat the inside of a medium bowl with margarine. Place dough in bowl and cover. Let rise in warm place 45 minutes to 1 hour or until doubled in volume. (If you own a Breville Smart Oven Air, set it to the Proof function, set temperature to 90ºF and time for 45 minutes.)

Preheat oven with a pizza stone on the middle rack to 450ºF (232ºC).
Use kitchen scissors to cut the dough into eight even pieces for individual pizzas. Use a rolling pin to roll out dough into a thin “amoeba” shape. Use a floured baking paddle or the back of a baking pan to transfer the pizza dough to the hot pizza stone. Par-bake the dough 3 to 4 minutes until lightly browned on bottom. Transfer crust to a cooling rack. Continue par-baking remaining pizza crusts.

Top par-baked crust, browned side up, with desired toppings. Finish baking on oven stone for 5 to 7 minutes, until crust edges are lightly browned, soft or crispy as you like it.

  1. I just bought my first chao creamy cheese. It was the same price as you quoted $5.99 …. and I use it on slices of pumpernickel bread toasted in the oven and then that to top off my French onion soup. It was great … loved it!!! I also love your videos … thanks

  2. Looks delicious. I’m not a vegan, so butter and mozzarella cheese are must-haves for me. I also like to drizzle my finished pizzas with EVOO and red chili flakes.

If I don’t buy ready-made pizza crust, it’s homemade in my Hamilton Beach bread maker. Much easier than the food processor method because all you do is dump, set and forget. The machine does everything and beeps when the Dough cycle is completed.

  3. I made vegan pizza just the other day but I cheated and used premade pizza dough lol (that happend to be vegan) Its always nice to find out different ways to make vegan pizza with differnt toppings. Oh, how I love pizza 😋🍕

  4. I made pizza for lunch after watching. I used the Chao Cheese. Found it at one of our Wal-marts. Lots cheaper than down by you, Jill.
