  1. Hi guys,
some people are commenting that the Impossible Burger is not vegan because one of the ingredients was tested on rats. What I have to say is that not every situation is black and white and I would urge you to dive a little deeper into the topic before just concluding that something isn’t vegan.

Essentially, the heme in the Impossible Burger is what makes it meat-like and this ingredient was questioned by the FDA (because it’s a completely new/revolutionary product), which is why the tests were run on rats. This was done in order to get the product out to market to prove that it was safe for human consumption. The company made sure (at least this is their claim and I don’t have a reason not to believe them) that they found a lab with humane practices and that they used the smallest number of rats possible for the tests. In the end, there were no negative effects. This test was done once, as far as I know, just to prove the safety of the product.

While I’m against animal testing, like I said, I think that not every situation is black and white. With the creation of this product, this could potentially change the way many people view plantbased meat alternatives. This could allow more people to choose the Impossible Burger over a meat burger. In my opinion, in this situation, the benefits FAR outweigh the costs. This is why I would still urge you to still support this burger (obviously, this is your choice but I think it’s for the greater good). Every time someone eats an impossible burger, they might be choosing that over a meat burger. Yes, it sucks that the animal testing had to be done but it sucks more if we stop supporting a product that could help (even the slightest) decrease the demand for meat IN THE FUTURE.

Here’s the article if you want the full details:

    1. Cheap Lazy Vegan I think you should have addressed this at the beginning of the video that the burger is not cruelty free so people could understand because from what I see on the comments people are not reading your point of view. Personally I would of try this but knowing that is not cruelty free I change my mind testing on animals is even worse than just killing them even if it’s a small rat. Accepting that big companies do a small test on animals for the good of humans or other animals is BS and even worse so we can have fake burger is borderline unethical and hypocritical. It’s just an opinion I love your videos and glad you share the vegan lifestyle

    2. Thanks for sharing your opinion and the additional resources 🙂 I think it’s important for everyone to form their own opinion based on the facts regarding each individual “grey area” type of case… which I think this is definitely one of those. I definitely see your point even though I’ll still want meat-eaters to choose the Impossible Burger than a meat burger. and I actually think the Beyond Burger is better anyway 😉

  2. By vegan dogs…do they mean they feed their dogs a vegan diet???!?!?? I hope they’ve reallllyy researched that shit cuz thats some real risky business ☹️

  3. Ok so to the people in the comments stating “feeding your dog vegan food Is harmful” are completely ignorant. Its not our responsibility to PAY for foods that contain animals. Yes dogs are omnivore, its our part to feed them plantbased, however, dogs have instincts to kill and eat animals on their own. I feed my cat certain plantbased foods that physiology can handles and she hunts her own food, like chipmunks and mice. Shes been doing this since she was born and she is 10 yrs old. Animals can fend for themslves. And yes it can be comflicting with my vegan lifestyle, seeing me cat kill and eat another being, but she is an obligate carnivore, its in her physiology. In case youre wonderig, my cat consumes certain grass types in our backyard, she east olives, bananas, crackers and cookies(oddly), she also eats shredded veggies like carrots. But every cat is different. These foods dont make her sick

  4. I tried the Impossible Burger and I agree with what you said about it having a meaty texture, but could use more flavor. Beyond Burger and Beast Burger are my favorites still, but they did a good job on it.

  5. I knew I saw you at the vegan fest, playing with my sisters pup! I just spotted myself in the white blouse at 11:30; ain’t nobody can pull off that hair like you girl!
