A little for health, some for the animals and some for the planet overall. I always ate a lot of vegetarian/vegan meals but also ate a lot of meat. Then I contracted alpha gal (a severe allergy to any mammalian foods/products) and cut all animal products out of my diet (hey, I like to breathe 🙂 and the intestinal distress/low BP/hives were AWFUL) Then I started watching movies like Cowspiracy and other much more graphic movies. And read a LOT So now, even tho technically I could eat chicken and seafood, the thought makes me ill. I haven’t eaten meat since 2005, and had to do this journey on my own – no internet, no support groups, no widespread availability of vegan meat subs. I have slipped a few times with chicken but not for a long time now….
