Candice has perfecte the best vegan cheese fondue recipe and now she is going to share it with you. The base of your fondue is going to be potatoes and rice. Rice is the perfect ingredient for this recipe as it has a smooth, creamy consistency when blended.
Your first step is to heat up some olive oil in a large pan, add onions and garlic to the pan and cook them until translucent. This will take roughly 3 minutes. Now you will add short grain white rice. Do not make the mistake of using brown rice, Candice makes it rather clear that this is a terrible idea that could ruin your recipe. Now add cashews, bouillon cubes, and potatoes. Cook this for 30 minutes, stirring to avoid sticking, until the potatoes are soft.
Once your potato mixture is cooked put it into your blender and blend on high. After you have blended it well add tapioca starch, white wine vinegar, sauerkraut water, nutritional yeast, salt, miso paste, and finally mustard pepper. Again, you will want to blend all this together well.
Light the Sterno burner under your Fondue pot and pour in your homemade vegan cheese. What’s that? You don’t have a fondue pot with a burner underneath it? What are you doing watching this video? Go out there and get yourself a fondue kit, and don’t forget the fondue forks. Those are crucial. For those of you that came prepared let’s continue.
Light your fondue burner and pour in your cheese sauce, add 2 tbsp of kirsch schnapps and a half a cup of dry wine. Stir your fondue giving your new ingredients time to blend in. Now that you have created your fondue you are ready to have your first fondue party.
There are a wide variety of things you can dip into your fondue. Some people prefer smaller pieces of bread. That is the traditional dipping food. You can also use Granny Smith apples as the flavor is complimentary to the cheese. You could go with mini roasted potatoes, and even mini roasted gerkens, or pickled onions. At the end of the day what you choose to dip in your fondue is completely up to you. Cauliflower or broccoli would also go well in this fondue creation.
Candice has once again made the impossible completely possible giving you an easy to follow recipe for vegan fondue.
