I figured out how to make atole de avena quicker, so I wanted to share it with you guys. Enjoy!
1/2 cinnamon stick
3 cups water
(this takes 15 minutes to make, from the moment you turn on the heat until it’s done)
1-2 Tb. ground oats
1 – 1 1/2 Tb vegan cane sugar
1/2 cup cinnamon tea
a dash of ground cinnamon
1 cup unsweetened soymilk or any non-dairy milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp almond extract (update: I added this today-nov 28- and it really added some extra flavor)

This looks delicious Susy! If I get around to trying it I’ll have to replace the sugar with molasses or agave nectar though. Thanks for making this video! 😀
Hi CG! I think it would also be great with any of those sweeteners 😀 Thank you for watching!
Thank you for your upload Susy!! I’ve missed you!
Thank you so much mija! I miss you too. Big hugs!!! 😀
Hi Susy, thank you for this recipe!! Question: is this something that can be made in the morning and the put in a thermos to have through out the day? Thank you again!!
Thank you!
Thank you Maria for answering the question! And yes Marissa, Maria MMS is correct. 😀
Marissa C. Longoria hi Marissa yes you can! It may thicken up as the day goes on but otherwise it’ll hold up really well!
This looks good! I’ve never had it. What’s the difference between atole and champurrado?
Champurrado is made with “Maseca” or masa de maiz and with tabletas de chocolate.
Thank you! Champurrado is a chocolate flavored atole. 🙂
