WAR CAKE, one bowl, vegan, spice cake

WAR CAKE RECIPE:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit
Double the recipe for a larger cake.
In a bowl combine:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup raisins
1 cup water
2 Tablespoons cooking oil
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
Allow to stand for the raisins to absorb water.
Add:
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Mix, pour into a greased and floured pan.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until a
toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Wonderful! Thanks. Would your cake work with Dried Apricots, or dried Cranberries?? Just curious. I think I’ll try it. My parents n g’parents learned to make Victory Cake (during Depression and WWII) — no eggs, little sugar, had Vinegar, oil, water, flour, and Cocoa powder — I can’t remember proportions or the whole technique, other than mixing everything in the pan it was baked in. Do you know of a recipe like this? Thanks again. I love your channel! 💕
