INGREDIENTS FOR 8 DOUGHNUTS:
35g banana, sliced
25g brown sugar
65g prepared coffee
50g peanut butter
90g all-purpose/plain flour
30g cornstarch
8g baking powder

FOR THE GLAZE
90g icing sugar
8g cacao powder
20g soy milk, or water

TO GARNISH:
coloured sugar strands
peanuts, chopped
desiccated coconut, chopped
dark chocolate, grated

STEPS:
– Preheat the oven to 180°C (360°F).
– Blend the bananas, the sugar, the coffee and the peanut butter to obtain a smooth cream.
– Place the peanut butter cream into a bowl, sift in half of the flour and the cornstarch, and mix into a soft batter. Sift in the rest of the flours and the baking powder, and mix again to obtain the mixture.
– Scoop the mixture into a piping bag, pipe the mixture into a greased doughnut tin, wet your finger and level the mixture down to allow for a more uniform rising. It is also possible to use a muffin tin, in which case there is no need to level down the mixture.
– Bake for 7 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through the cooking time. Once the time is up, tap doughnuts out of the tin and let them cool down.
– For the glaze, combine all the ingredients together to obtain a dense paste.
– Dip the doughnuts into the glaze, and sprinkle them with a garnish of choice.

SUBSTITUTIONS and TIPS
– The coffee can be substituted with any other liquid like non-dairy milk, fruit juice, or even water.
– The sugar for the doughnuts can be substituted with any other kind of sugar.
– The cornstarch can be substituted with potato starch.
– The peanut butter can be substituted with any other kind of nut butter.

    1. And I wasn’t talking directly to you, but to all of those who said that we are in fact “stealing” things. I apologise if my reply sounded accusatory, and thanks for leaving your original comment; it was very helpful and allowed me to share my thoughts.

    2. The Vegan Corner oh I wasn’t accusing you of stealing things. I’m Japanese and am aware of the “Japanese YouTube” good job

    3. Thanks for your comment, Ana! I’m glad that at least someone knows that this kind of format has not been “invented” by someone here on YouTube, and that is actually quite popular all over Asia.
Although there are obvious similarities between our videos and the ones from Peaceful Cuisine, Emojoie cuisine, and virtually any other cooking channel there is, not only none of us invented ASMR cooking videos, but also we didn’t invent any specific filming or editing style, as the lighting and techniques used to film and edit this video are well known in the filmmaking industry, and quite frankly… vary basic, popular all over the world and taught in any filmmaking school!
We are trying to do our own thing here, which is to share unique and good-quality recipes in the most effective way possible – nothing more! Besides, we have been using this filming and editing style for over a year now, and the only thing we have changed is that we added a filter, removed the voiceover and swapped it with the cooking sounds. Thanks again for taking the time to leave this comment, which gave me the possibility to clarify a few things 🙂

    4. Peaceful cuisine didn’t created this editing style 🙂 , It’s actually quite popular in the ” Japan YouTube ” ( I don’t know how to say that haha ) and if you watch his old videos you will see that even peaceful cuisine used to do “normal” cooking videos before to change for this style :). Just enjoy the video and the recipe ( if you like donuts 😉 ) . This editing style is becoming popular for ASMR cooking videos because it’s effective.

  1. Ustedes son otro peo…
I’m sorry, I really had to say it in Venezuelan (Spanish from Venezuela), English doesn’t really get all the excitement I feel for this hahahaha but it’s a compliment, I swear! Thank you, I really appreciate all the work you do making the vegan journey easier (and way more delicious) for us! :)♥

    1. Thanks! The “faded film” look is virtually always done in post production, as it is much easier to film with proper exposure, and then lift the blacks as needed.
