Pan Fried Cauliflower Cakes (Chinese Vegetarian Style Cooking Recipe)
Welcome to Xiao’s Kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei and my goal is to make your cooking simple and exciting. Ever since my Mother showed me how to cook at an early age, I have always had a strong passion for cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia, in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and learn new Chinese recipes.
Ingredients:
200g Cauliflower
100g Plain Flour
2 Eggs
2 Spring Onions
½ Tsp Ground White Pepper
Salt To Taste
Method:
1. Cut the flower part of the cauliflower into bite-size pieces
2. Place the cauliflower into a food processor, process until coarse
3. Finely chop the spring onions
4. Boil water in a saucepan
5. Place the processed cauliflower in the saucepan, boil for a minute
6. Remove from saucepan and drain, leave to cool
7. Place the well-drained cauliflower in a mixing bowl, add the eggs, spring onions, white pepper, salt, flour and 1 Tbsp of oil. Mix all ingredients together well
8. Lightly oil a frying pan and heat it over low heat
9. Place a serving spoon of the cauliflower mixture and drop onto the frying pan
10.Fry for a minute each side or until golden both side
11.Remove onto a dish, serve with sour cream or mayo, or simply on its own

Are the cakes soft or crispy?
Crispy outside and slightly soft in the middle. They’re like mini pancakes, the more you fry them they get more crispy.
