In this episode of the Edgy Veg Candice makes a run to Buffalo for a huge American Vegan Food Grocery Haul. She stocks up on many of the vegan foods recommended by commenters that she has been interested in but are not available in Canada. Some of the brands she chose include Jackfruit, Morning Star, Beyond Meat, and Annie’s.
Some of the stores she stocked up at include Wegmans, Walmart, Trader Joe’s, as well as other random health food stores. Candice received many comments regarding Morning Star farms products and decided to pick up the Hickory BBQ Rib-lets in sweet and smokey sauce. Interestingly enough as Candice started reading through the ingredients of many of the Morning Star products she discovered that some of them are vegan and some are not. She recommends taking a close look at the ingredients before you make your purchase.
She also picked up a box of Annie’s Cocoa Bunnies cereal. There are some Annie’s products available in Canada but unfortunately the cereal is not something available in her area. Needless to say she was pretty excited to find the Annie’s cereal. The Annie’s Cocoa Bunnies is made from oat, corn, and rice. They are in fact actually in the shape of little chocolate bunnies.
James has been dying to try the Beyond Meat products and Candice was happy to oblige his request when she found them on the shelves. She actually cleared out the entire section of beyond meat and scored 5 packs of the Beyond Chicken as well as 5 packs of the Beyond Beef crumble. She got so much of the Beyond Meat products she’s actually going to have to go out and buy a deep freeze to store it all.
Her next buy was the Field Roast Frankfurters. In Canada they sell many of the Field Roast products, but sadly not the Frankfurters. After picking up the Frankfurters they headed to Trader Joe’s. Candice had actually never been to a Trader Joe’s so it was a whole new experience for her. They picked up a pack of James’s favorite snack, Thai Lime and Chili cashews. In case you didn’t know, James lived in Washington for some time and had access to a Trader Joe’s where he first found the Thai Lime and Chili cashews. They also picked up some Trader Joe’s chicken-less Mandarin Orange Morsels, Vegan Mozzarella Style Shreds, some BBQ Jackfruit, Rice Dream, as well as Almond Dream Bites.
In addition to all this Candice was able to find Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, organic coconut milk drink with coffee as well as a variation that included cacao. She also bought quite a few vegan cookies, Field Roast Original Hand Form Burgers, Sweet Earth Hickory Sage Benevolent Bacon, Light Light Smart Bacon, some Chorizo Seitan, Boca Burgers, and the very last pack of Beyond Meat sliders.
For the rest of the grocery haul you’ll have to watch the video. Candice found far more than she expected when she began to hunt around at the various stores and now has a plethora of vegan foods that will take her current vegan cooking options to a whole new level. Be sure to take a good look at the stores in your area and see what you vegan options truly are. You may be missing out on tasty vegan treats you didn’t even know existed.

Yes a taste test needs to happen! I truly hated the beast burgers and never
