There’s hundreds of years of traditions and techniques handed down through the generations on how to make the perfect one. We’ve made it as easy as possible for anyone starting off.   1. I made this for Christmas and it was delightful. Thanks for the recipe!

    For those who are curious, this pudding is easily made gluten-free. I substituted Bob’s Red Mill 1:1 flour for the spelt flour they used, then made some breadcrumbs from a loaf of store-bought GF bread. I didn’t make any other substitutions or additions. Worked like a charm. The pudding was moist and delicious, without any issues of it falling apart or sticking to the (greased) bowl I steamed it in.

    Is using red wine in this recipe something done traditionally/ original recipes or can it be swapped for something else?
